Question
Hey! I have wanted to do cheerleading for quite some time but I am not flexible
AT ALL. I cant do a cartwheel I only fall on my butt. I am also not that flexable. I
have tried to get my mom to help me but due to her medical condition she is not
able to help. Please help! I don't know where to start and it seems hopeless, but
I'm definitely not giving up. That wont help anything.

Answer
Hi Olivia,

Well, determination is the first step in becoming a cheerleader. It's what I look for at my team tryouts and to mean it means more than just having skills.
The best thing for you to do is to get practicing with friends or other cheerleaders you know. Also, sign up for a cheer/tumbling class at a local cheer gym, YMCA, or park district. Flexibility can be helped if you stretch, stretch, stretch. Working out, and getting stronger will help you with every area that cheerleading deals with. If you work on strength and the flexibility, the rest will come. Good luck!

Happy Cheering,
