Cheerleading/back hand spring

Question
my form is good on my back handspring but i always land on my knees any tips for not doing that or excercises to hel i have a b ack walkover perfect. also sometimes my arms give out. now i also need tips for landing front handsring i always land in a bridge

Hi Kristen,

   Its hard to judge exactly what's going on without seeing you, but it sounds to me like you need to strengthen your arms and shoulders so that you can effectively push off in your bhs. Work on strengthening your arms and shoulders and start doing shoulder pops as part of that practice. Good luck!

Experience

My Experience in the area: I cheered on my grade school team for 4 years. I danced for on pointe for 14 years. I have coached for 9 years for grade school basketball cheerleading, grade school competitive squads, and all-star. I now own my own national championship all-star team.

Education/Credentials
I am safety certified by the AACCA. I have a BA in Elementary Education and am a certified teacher. I also have my masters in library science with an emphasis on teens.
