Question Why don't cheer coaches / cheer teams let boys be flyers ? I'm a boy and I'm way
more flexible then most of these girls on our varsity team. I'm only 115lbs ( Is
That To Heavy? ) and im tall, 5'8 but i know how to hold my weight. I can do
almost all of the stretches except bow and arrow ( im working on that ) and i
have to fix my scorpion a little. Also two girls on the varsity team put me in
the air with no problem. I Don't know what the big deal is. I think having a boy
flyer would get the crowd going.
Some One Help !!

Answer Hey Sal,
Honestly put, I don't know. Every coach is different. If a coach has a guy that is able to fly and doesn't let them, its because they have they own reasons, which I can't presume to guess.
Some of the general excuses I have heard is because guys are needed on the ground for lifting, guys aren't flexible enough, or that they aren't pretty enough for the judges. Or simply that most guys don't want to fly.
I certainly know that if I had a guy that could fly as well as my girl flyers, he would've been a flyer too. So, I encourage you to push to become a flyer, if that's what you want. Good luck to you!
