Question
i really want to be a flyer in the cheerleading squad Im gonna be in this summer, but i dont know how to do a scorpion very well, or any of those stunts. WHAT CAN I DO TO BECOME A FLYER?!?!?!?!

Answer
Hey Karina!

Sorry for such a late response to your question, I forgot to set my vacation settings! Anyway, you are interested in becoming a flyer, which is great! One of the key aspects to flying is FLEXIBILITY. Stretch every day, sit in the splits 1-2 minutes each really concentrating on your left split, since that is the leg you heel stretch with as a flyer. If you do not have splits or not perfectly, still sit in them as they will come with daily stretching. While in each split walk your hands past your butt and lean back towards your le that is behind you. This stretches your back and legs for scorpion, arabesques, and scales. Next, walk your hands up, grab your tow in front of you and lean down with your chest resting on your front leg to stretch heel stretches and bow n' arrows. Also hold bridges for 30 seconds to stretch your back. Sitting in frog stretch will stretch your hips for added flexibility.

Stretching daily is very important to flyers, and your skills will come if you are committed to these stretched as often as possible.

Cheers! Nicole
