Expert: Taylor - 2/25/2010

I am really interested in cheerleading. I am 5' 6" and 110lb. I'm 13 and have absolutely no experience, but I took dance for 2 years and I am pretty coordinated. I'm in 7th grade and am determined to make the high school cheerleading team. I am going to sign up at the local gym, but will I have enough time to get a few stunts down? I want to be able to do a back handspring and a forward handspring, and any other stunts that may be necessary. I can do a cart wheel and a round off, but thats all. Any idea what I will need to be on the high school team? And maybe get on a competetive team? or is it too late? Sorry if I asked too many questions! Any info would be great. Thank you!

Well you could probably make your high school team with just the tumbling you have now and when you guys practice your coach could help you with the back handspings and stuff. For the competitive team, when you try out you will always make a team they wont not put you on a team. you will probably be like level 2 or 3 considering your tumbling and experience but eventually you can get better.It is never to late to join an allstar team you could join in the middle of the season if you wanted they will still take you and put you on a team.
