Cheerleading/Couple of Questions Regarding Liberties, Extensions

Question
Hi! I'm so grateful for this service.

my cheer squad is unable to hit the straight up extension lib. the backspot places her hand under the flyer's butt and lifts straight up and then grabs her ankles. one of the bases hold her foot as if it were going into an elevator, and the other base holds the "arch" of the sneaker. we try dipping a lot but we can't extend it to the point where our arms are straight. do you have any technique advice?

also, our backspots have to go on their toes when we do extensions. someone told us that this should never be done. is that true? and why?

thank you so much for answering my questions. i don't know who else i could go to. thank you!!!!!!!!
Sara

Answer
All I can say for the extension stuff is to try and keep your arms straight and if they are not try again until you get it right. The back spotters are not suppose to go on their toes because if they do they might loose their balance and drop the flyer in a cradle or anything else.
