Question
Hi, i am having issues with my standing back hand-spring. my coaches say i have it by myself and that i need to try to do it, but every time they tell me to my back hand spring i freeze and i suddenly can't throw it. i will stand there forever and ask for a light spot, but nobody will spot me! i have been going every monday through thursday for tumbling and my coach says that if i don't do it i will move down a team (i do competitive cheer). i don't know what to do. -desperate for help!

Answer
Hi Lindsay,
What i would have your coaches do is have their hand on your back.. then when you start to throw it move away.. cuz this will make you think you are getting a spot but they aren't helping you.. and eventually you will not need them at alll..
GOOD LUCK.. LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES OR IF YOU NEED MORE HELP!!

Sincerly,

Expertise

I can answer all kinds of questions that are about tumbeling, stunting, flying, cheering, dancing, flexabilty, motions, and just getting back in shape. I can't answer questions about the drill team. I was on an all-star team for 7 years and am currently on my high school team which I have been on for 3 years, and I am currently captain of my high school squad. On my all-star team I was a flyer, a base, and a tumbler. I would be glad to help you, so you may give me some of your questions and I would be glad to give you as much information as I can.

I have cheered for 7 years for an all star team. We traveled out of state. I was a flyer but I know how to base and backspot.
