About Katlin
Expertise
I can answer all kinds of questions that are about tumbeling, stunting, flying, cheering, dancing, flexabilty, motions, and just getting back in shape. I can't answer questions about the drill team. I was on an all-star team for 7 years and am currently on my high school team which I have been on for 3 years, and I am currently captain of my high school squad. On my all-star team I was a flyer, a base, and a tumbler. I would be glad to help you, so you may give me some of your questions and I would be glad to give you as much information as I can.

Cheerleading - High School Try-Outs

Question
My daughter has been AllStar for 10 years.  She has filled all rolls (Flyer, Base, Tumbler, etc...)

Last year she tried out for High School and wasn't chosen.  She is very shy and reserved at try-out's.  Can you give me some tips on how she can ace try-outs.  Possibly, you can give me some questions they may ask her?  I would appreciate any advice you may have to offer.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Cindy,
I know how that feels at my high school something like that happened to a few of my friends .. Being shy is something i know all too well .. i was very shy myself .. i always practiced in the mirror and still when it came to tryouts i froze up .. what i recently started doing was just telling myself i could , and act like i was having a yelling competition with some one and i was going to winn .. although you can do this you still have to maintain the cheer/pep in your voice .. just have her practice her motions ect. in front of the mirror and sometime even just saying the words just like she woudl in a performance.. my coach told me to go outside adn start doing my cheers so pretty much anyone would hear me adn i would get over my shyness .. this helped me a lot because at first i was still shy outside because i didnt' want anyone to be looking at me .. but after awhile this began to help tremendously ..
IF I HAVE NOT COMPLETLY HELPED YOU LET ME KNOW AND I WILL BE MORE THEN HAPPY TO HELP YOU FURTHER.. LET ME KNWO HOW IT GOES!! .. GOOD LUCK!!
Sincerly ,
  Katlin <3
