Question
Hey!  Could you give me some tips on toe-touches and the such?  Also, do you know any cool dances?  If so, could you please tell me what song they go with?  thanks for your help.  I appreciate it.  Keep up the cheering.

Thanks!

Answer
CHEERS, Michelle!
Thanks for your question. First of all, there are many things that can help you get better jumps, in all different aspects. In general, make sure that your toes are pointed when they are in the air. Remember to sit into the jump, rather than reaching for your toes. If you've never done this before, it may be a bit awkward at first -- you may even fall down! But rest assured, practicing this will definitely pay off. Check your arm placement in your jumps to make sure they are correct: try practicing in a large mirror, or in front of a sliding glass door at night. This way, you are able to see what you actually look like in your jump. If you need more specific tips or help on a certain area in your jumps (height, arm placement, etc) let me know, and I'll be glad to help.
Regarding dances, most of the dances I've learned go to mixes from CheerMix CD's. Any songs on those kinds of CD's, or even things like Jock Jams have good rhythms to make up or perform dances to. Sorry I can't be of much more help with that, but I hope you find some good music! =)
I hope I've helped you with your questions. If you have any further ones, feel free to send me an e-mail and I'd be more than happy to help you find an answer! Have fun, stunt safe, and keep cheering! =)

Expertise

I have been a cheerleader for over 10 years: All-Stars, Junior Varsity, and Varsity. Currently, I am Captain of the Spirit All-Stars, and I`m on my school`s elite Varsity squad. I`ve attended NCA Cheer Camp for the past four years. My coach now is a former NCA Staff member, and she has given me extensive knowledge on the sport and everything about it. I spend, on average, 15-20 hours a week cheerleading. I`m a veteran of competitions and have many tips that can definitely help to improve any cheerleader! I`d be more than happy to offer any help concerning any aspect of the sport.

Experience

My varsity squad has never gotten lower than second place in any competition for the past ten years. This year, we will be attending the Big Apple Classic in the heart of New York City. Two years ago, we took first place at this competition. We look forward to this challenge!
