Question
I'm a flyer and am being single based for the first time in a couple of days. I know I'll get the standard what do to talk, but what are some tips to flying a single based stunt?

Answer
Hi Emily!

There are alot of tips to flying single based stunts. One of the most important things to keep in mind that alot of flyers seem to forget is that in single based stunts the base doesn't do all the work!!! The flyer must contribute an equal share of work for the stunt to work. For example, in a toss to hands, you could have the strongest guy in the world basing you, but if you didnt jump or flick off of his wrists then he wouldn't be able to get you up. So remember, use as much leg power as you can (in walk-in's toss-ins ect.) Also in toss to hands the base grabs your waist and you hold his wrists. It is important that your timeing on your jump is syncronized with your bases timing of the lift. Also, remember to flick your hands off of his wrists at the top of his lift. After that, stay tight and have your legs shoulder with apart so that he can catch your feet. Most flyers find it easier to have their shoulders slightly back when they are being caught. Good luck!
