Answer
Hi Conner,
First of all don't stress about your bhs. It's something that must come with time and practice. It takes a different amount of time for everyone to get their bhs. The biggest thing is for you to be patient and work on it whenever you can.

If your mom won't sign you up for tumbling at the local cheer gym, the next thing to do is see if you can tag along with any of your friends who are in tumbling class. Then, maybe you can convince your mom that it's worth it or ask your friends parents to talk to your mom. If it is the cost that is bugging your mom, try checking out your local YMCA, or park district to see what classes they offer that might be cheaper.

The other thing to absolutely do for sure is talk to your cheerleading coach right away. Tell her about your worries and see if she (or he) can do anything about helping you work on tumbling. Also, don't worry about your school routine. Your coach will not put a bhs in a routine for you if you do not solidly have the skill. Your coach is going to be your best resource in helping you with your bhs.

Just remember that a backhandspring or any other tumbling skill are skills that must be learning and progressed into. Do not attempt to do skills that you are not ready for. You can be hurt! Always talk to your coach or a tumbling expert to decide when to do your tricks on your own.

Good Luck Conner! Please let me know how it turns out!
