Answer
CHEERS, Regina!
I'd like to apologize for the wait for this answer, but this is the second time I've tried to send it. I hope it works this time! Now, on to your question.
As far as I know, you are correct in your knowledge of candlesticks and buckets. This is the same way I have learned and taught the motions, as well as any other cheerleader I've come across. This is also the obvious answer, seeing as both motions look like the action they describe (ie, candlesticks is like holding two candlesticks, and buckets is like carrying two buckets.) It would only make sense that this is the correct way to perform these motions. I believe you have been teaching these motions correctly. The glossary probably just has a typo error in it, and the two descriptions should be switched.
I hope I have helped answer your question. If you have any further questions or comments, please don't hesitate to e-mail me again. Have a great day!

Expertise

I have been a cheerleader for over 10 years: All-Stars, Junior Varsity, and Varsity. Currently, I am Captain of the Spirit All-Stars, and I`m on my school`s elite Varsity squad. I`ve attended NCA Cheer Camp for the past four years. My coach now is a former NCA Staff member, and she has given me extensive knowledge on the sport and everything about it. I spend, on average, 15-20 hours a week cheerleading. I`m a veteran of competitions and have many tips that can definitely help to improve any cheerleader! I`d be more than happy to offer any help concerning any aspect of the sport.

Experience

My varsity squad has never gotten lower than second place in any competition for the past ten years. This year, we will be attending the Big Apple Classic in the heart of New York City. Two years ago, we took first place at this competition. We look forward to this challenge!
