Question
hi, just had a really good idea about giving kids something to do rather than hanging around the streets.I just don't know where to start to get this up and running.

Answer
Hi Emma,

That is a really good idea. I admire you for taking the initiative to help keep the kids off the streets. The way to go is to contact the park district, local YMCA, school, of private building etc. to find a place to run the program. Once you have secured a location, hopefully free - you can write or talk to the park district/mayor/city official and explain what you want to do and see what they can do to help you - once you have done that, you are good to start recruiting kids. Start it off as maybe an open gym thing or a intro to cheer class. Then you can see what kind of potential there is and if you have the capability to start a team to cheer. Hope that helps you out! If you need more help, feel free to ask!! Please let me know how it turns out!
