Question
hi kelly im going into my 5th year of cheerleading this year and my team is going advanced which means harder stunts. my question is how can i get my heel stretches high and my scorpians perfect?!?!

Answer
Hi Emily!

Ok the only way to perfect these stunts is by improving on your flexibility and balance.

First of all, heel stretches require great amounts of leg flexibility. Some stretches you can work on to improve your leg flexibility are: Splits, straddles, heel stretches with a friend helping to stretch your leg farther, ect.

Scorpians, on the other hand, have more to do with back flexibility. The best way to improve your back flexibility is by doing backbends. Each time, gradually move your feet and hands closer and closer together.

A good way to improve on your balance is with a maeflyer. If you don't have access to one of those, I suggest practicing stepping onto a sturdy chair, locking your leg, and holding it tight for at least 5 seconds!

Good luck and I hope this helps!
