Question QUESTION: well im trying out for cheer this year and im a 6th grader and i cant do a toe touch!my privit tumbling teacher said i need to roll my feet back or somthing and i dont know if im doing the right form or anything PLEASE PLEASE help i really wanna make it!!!how do you do a toe touch?
ANSWER: Hey.
Your coach is talking about rolling your hips so that your shoelaces are pointed either up at the ceiling and more preferably, the wall behind you. That will help you have a toe-touch. Not a really good star jump.
Make sure you're working out your calves and thighs. You can ask your coach what some good work outs are. They make your jumps higher.
Another good thing is by whipping your legs up and fast and then back down.
Also, something that you should go for is sitting into your jump when you've got a pretty high toe-touch. That helps it get hyper-extended.
If you're not very high and are not really close to a toe-touch, make sure that you practice with good form. If you have good form, the flexibility and height will come. You don't want to have a jump that looks sloppy and high. So make sure that you have a strong T, pointed toes, and straight legs.
I hope this helped!
Love always, Kiki Quach

QUESTION: thank you so much!
but like my high-v and t is pretty good but my jump is horrible!like its low and my legs arnt completly strait and when i land me feet dont have time to get together its hard to explain but how do i have great straight legs and a perfect landing?
Answer The only way I can really help with that is by telling you to just practice. You can't just practice bad form. Even if your legs are more of a star than a toe-touch, you can't break form. You have to keep your chest up, toes pointed, legs straight and even if it's low and really not getting there, you need to keep working on your flexability and persistence and it'll come.
