Question
Hey Kimmi,
Do you happen to know any good cheer base workouts?
Thanks,

Answer
Hi Princessbananas,

Congrats on taking the initiative to getting stronger. Firstly the best thing for a base to work is the core muscles, the stomach and abs. Any kind of conditioning is good: supermans, reverse supermans, stabilizers, and reverse stabilizers, pilates, yoga, tai chi, kickboxing, sit-ups, v-ups, crunches, tuck-ups, straddle-ups etc. You can find tons and tons more online and by asking other people for their workout regimens.
The next part to focus on is the legs. Your power when basing should come from your legs, so strengthen these alot! Exercises for legs include: leg lifts, walking, jogging, running, bike riding, dancing, kick-boxing, aerobics, up and down stairs etc. Same thins with this one - ask anyone and you'll get a million more workouts to use.
The last part is arms and shoulders. While your power in lifting comes from your legs, your arms and shoulders still need to be strong to push and lock-out at the appropriate times. To work your arms and shoulders you can: lift weights, do push-ups, hold handstands, do shoulder pops, walk on your hands, boxing, etc. Same thing one more time - ask anyone and they'll give you tons more to work on. I suggest lifting wrights as the best option. Good Luck with it all. Let me know how it goes!

Happy Cheering!
