Chemical Engineering/pH metry

Question
1. Why to opt for pH metric titrations rather than classical based titrations ?
2. Since pH meter is an electronic device, why its frequent calibration is required ?

Answer
1.  Faster.  No margin for interpretive human based error.

2.  I think the part that requires the calibration is the probe, whose internals are wetted by the solutions being tested.  If it gets corroded or altered in some other way then calibration is necessary to ensure accurate results.
