Question
I am a commerce student at the University of Toronto and I do not know very much about chemistry. I have some questions concerning chemical detection by electronic devices. I am not sure if you can answer my questions however I would greatly appreciate some advice on what direction I should take. Thank you very much for your time.

Yours truly, Devin Holmberg

Answer
Do a google search using many combinations of key words first, so you can get your question out of the extremely general category.

Also look at http://www.itt.edu/staff/boyter/links/index.html

under chemistry equipment, chemistry analytical, and chemistry chromatography.

Then if you have any specific quetion, post them.  Just remember to start with this.  There are NO Star Trek devices that can detect multiple specific compounds in the air at the same time in real time.  We are lucky to get 3 or 4.
