Question
hi
I would like to know if decomposition of H2O2 besides FeCl3(as a catalist) ,will produce Cl2 as a byproduct or no.
I major in chemical engineering .
THanks

Answer
If you want me to say zero is produced, I couldn't.  I don't see a very favorable path to get it, especially since the reaction would favor the ferric chloride.  Now NaOCl will react with ferric chloride to give chlorine.  I would think HCl gas formation would be more favorable.
