Question
Hi, I was wondering if you would be able to give me an up to date price, or know where i would be able to find an up to date prices for methanol and dimethyl ether (DME). I am trying to work out the economic potential for the process of making DME from methanol and am unable to find an accurate price anywhere i've looked.  Anyway helps or links would be much appreciated, thanks, Ewan

Answer
Thanks for your question.

The answer depends on a range of things, including the purity of the methanol you buy and of the DME you sell. Your best bet would be to go to the Sigma-Aldrich website:
www.sigmaaldrich.com

and browse their online catalogues for a guide price per litre: you may also want to email their customer service reps who will be happy to give you a guide as to bulk prices that methanol sells for nowadays. I always use this approach when investigating new processes, and I hope it works ok for your needs.
