Question
I do a little gold prospecting from time to time. I seperate my materials at home. I have recovered a good bit of gold from the last batch of black sands I brought home. I need a small amount of nitric acid to recover the gold that I was not able to recover with mechanical means. Do you know of a source(s) that will sell a small amount (pint) to a hobbiest.

Answer

If they sell it to you, be darn careful.  If HCl (muriatic acid) will work, you can buy that at Home Depot.  Sulfuric can be gotten at auto supply stores (battery acid).
