Question
what is aluminum powder and where can you buy it?

Answer
Hi, and thanks for your question.

Aluminum powder is simply aluminum metal that's been grinded down in to fine grains.

It's a bit difficult for a private individual to source, because it undergoes some hazardous reactions (e.g. slowly gives of Hydrogen when wet, and reacts vigorously with Iron Oxide when heated.) Most chemical supply companies sell aluminum powder, but are not willing to send it to household addresses.

However, Ebay sellers often have small amounts on offer. Failing that, try a hardware store, because powdered aluminum is sometimes used to 'inlay' wooden furniture.

Hope this helps,
Thanks again for your question.
