Question
How do you know that a chemical or physical change happened?

Answer
Physical would be something you can see. For example, an ice cube melts.  A chemical change is something you can see as well but the substance is no longer the same.  For instance the rusting of a nail, you can see the rust(physical) however a chemical change has occured as well. The iron reacted with O2 to form iron oxide or iron hydroxide. (the rust)

Evidence of a change in a reaction would be:  heat, smell, solid formation (precipate), cold.
