Question
I have a question for the sulfur in a battery. When you extract the sulfur from a lead-acid battery how old can it be. I the battery is left without use for a prolonged period of time will the sulfur still come out of the battery with the battery acids. would it work with a brand new never used battery.

Answer
No matter how old the battery, the sulfur will be present in some form (probably sulfates and oxides in years old discarded) and can be extracted in some way.  It can't go anywhere.  A really hard way to get sulfur.  In the USA, just buy sulfur at a drug store.
