Question
Sir !
My questions are Islam based:
1. Alcohol used for drinking is necessarily ethyl alcohol or may be  other members of this family.
2. All the alcohols stimulate man for sex or cause dizziness or its only ethyl alcohol?
3. I love perfumes but mostly they contain alcohol which is strictly forbidden in Islam. So, tell me does it mean ethyl alcohol or may be other members of this group.
4. Some of the perfumes are written with the words "Alcohol denat". What does it mean?
Please ! help me in this regard because it's a big problem for me. Question # 3 is of special concern.
Thanks

Answer
All alcohol used for drinking is ethyl alcohol.  All others are poisons when consumed.  The denat alcohol is also ethyl alcohol.  Almost all perfumes use it.  Many men's shaving/beauty products have it also.

If you do a web search, you can find water based perfumes.  I believe high end stores may have some also.  But you must read the labels.  Do not trust what someone may tell you.
