Question
I have a little problem dealing with the science fair >< I know it says to not post things about homework or schoolwork. But I really need help. Is there anywhere local that I can buy AgNo3? (SodiumNitrate), because I am trying to test specific water samples and see how much SodiumChloride builds up in it. Do you know how long it takes for this process to work? That's all I need to know if you know... thanks for your help either way.

Answer
Silver nitrate is a dangerous chemcial and worse it is very expensive.  The only place it might still be sold is at a pharmacy or photoshop (as part of developing chemicals).  Be prepared to pay through the nose.  DO NOT USE silver nitrate unless you are supervised by a qualified adult such as a teacher or professor (not your parents).

The procedure is straightforward and can be find with a google search.
