Question
Is there any methods that you are aware of for removal of high ammonia levels from industrial waste streams besides the conventional biological removal

Answer
You could probably oxidize it with oxidants such as ozone or peroxide, but economics are a problem.  Depending on the form, coagulation would probably help, but only lab tests would tell.  Finally, ion exchange and carbon could be tried.  Bottom line, biological is used because of ease and $$$.
