Chemistry (including Biochemistry)/Conductivity Control of water

Question
I am working in a gas based power plant, where we require DM water for water injection into Gas turbine. DM water conductivity should be < 0.2 micro siemens/cm. After producing DM water in DM plant, conductivity is < 0.1 micro siemens/cm but when it is stored in DM storage tank, conductivity increases to 0.3 micro siemens/cm due to contact with atmospheric air in the tank. Can u plz suggest some method so that we can avoid this contact of air with DM water or any other method that maintains the conductivity to  < 0.2 microsiemens/cm after DM storage tank.

Answer
My guess is that your method strips CO2, so that under air storage the CO2 redissolves into the DM and thus carbonate increases.  Run an alkalinity on the fresh and stored.  If it goes up, it is probably carbonate.

Can you purge the tank with nitrogen or just keep it full?  What about a floating barrier to separate it from the air?  I don't have an easy answer for you.
