Chemistry (including Biochemistry)/nylon fabrics and bleach damage

Question
Dr. Boyter-

I accidently got bleach on my brown-colored nylon (and other synthetic material) pants, and my effort to even out the color with more bleach led to the pants taking on a peach color, making them unwearable (outside of a gay bar perhaps!).
What kind of treatment can I use to change the color to something more acceptable (brown, blue or green- anything except peach), without destroying the material of the pants?
thanks,
Bruce

Answer
You will need to completely bleach the color out of the pants and redye or dye them very black. Not much else you can do.  Talk to someone local (dry cleaners or tailor shop) who you can show the actual pants.  Note that no matter what you do, the material will be weakened by each bleaching and dyeing.  Best advice, buy some new pants and tie-dye these.
