Chess/Colle vs King's Indian
Expert: Len Molden - 5/9/2008
QuestionMr Molden:Thanks again for your advice.I have been practicing and studying your recommended line for the past few weeks (also bought the suggested book)and I am having good results.Last Saturday I won vs an expert using that line(he was in shock!)It was a 15 min. blitz so Icould not copy but basically I played in the center with
queen ,rooks and king's bishop in the middle game with a devastating tactical shot enabled by white's set up and piece coordination in this line.
Thanks again. Ed.
AnswerHi Ed,
I'm glad this line has worked out for you.
Incidentally, I drew GM Hikaru Nakumura (2686 FIDE) on Friday, May 9/08 in a 35 board simultaneous he gave against mostly young juniors (other than me and a few other players), using another anti-King's Indian Defense System I've sometimes played.
In the final position, I accepted his draw offer thinking it was the right thing to do with everyone done, but I didn't even look at the position on the board.
I have a forced win in 5 moves in the final position (he told me right after we shook hands)! I play Ra7, his Queen moves, then b7 followed by Ra8. If he tries to keep the Rook at b8 to block the pawn, I play Qa6 and after R:b8 Q:b8 I play Qa8.
