Question
hi i have a game coming up and i would like to know some ways in which i can check mate my opponant fast

Answer
Hi Navin,

Though I don't recommend this approach (along with all chess writers), one of the quickest way to win a a chess game is using a "beginner's mate" which goes like this:

1. e4 e5
2. Qh5 Nc6
3. Bc4 Nf6
4. Q:f7 ++ Mate

However, you shouldn't base your play on using such moves, as all players learn what to do (or not to do) after one or two times of falling in to this.  Bringing your Queen out early in the game is not the proper way to play the opening.  You should follow these principles:

- Try to get your pawns to cover the e4-e5-d4-d5 complex of sqaures.

- Develop both of your Knights toward the center.

- Bring your Bishops out to good diagonals after the knights.

- Castle within the first 12 moves if possible.

Len
