Question
How many possible moves can you make at the beginning of the game?

Answer
Hi Michael,

There are 20 different moves for each side at the beginning of a chess game:

- each pawn can move two squares forward = 8
- each pawn can move one square forward = 8
- each Knight can move to two different squares = 4

Regards,

Len
