Question
When a game of chess starts out... at the very beggining before anyone moves...When the first player moves... WHAT IS THE LEAST AMOUNT OF MOVES HE CAN MAKE TO WIN THE GAME?

Answer
Hi Joann,

Thanks for the question. And below is the answer.
As per FIDE rules, white is always the first to move. The least amount of moves, the player playing with white can make to win the game is 4.
The moves are as follows:
White  Black (the moves of black can be variable, but the moves of white must be same)
1.   e4     e5
2.  Qf3    Nc6
3.  Bc4     h6
4.  Qxf7#

Here black can avoid the mate at move no. 3 by moving Nf6 or Nh6.

If you have further questions please revert back.

Thanks and Regards,
Satyajit Das
