Chess/Guaranteed Checkmate?

Question
I heard there is a certain "guaranteed" checkmate, where an opponent takes a certain piece of yours and 16 or 18 moves later you checkmate him no matter what. Does this exist? If so, how would it be done?

Thank you very much

Answer
Hi Dan,

No, there is no such thing as this.  It can only occur if one side allows this to happen purposely.  For it to happen even accidentally would require so much pure coincidence, that the number of variations to be bypassed would be mind-boggling.
