1. Can there be uncomfortable feeling for chess players including
Chess Grandmasters if Chess Boards are designed with different contrasting colors instead of traditional/conventional Black and
White Squares ?.

2. Can there be more impact in Rapid Chess Games ?. (Chess Moves to be made quickly by both players in less time).

For examples: Red and Green, Red and Blue, Blue and Yellow.

The Chess rules will remain the same.

Example : Red and Green chess board.

Red has replaced white square and Green has replace the Black square.
32 red squares replacing the white squares.
32 green squares replacing the black squares.
Red will make the first move.

There will be 16 red pieces and 16 green pieces.

The placement of the chess pieces on the chess board will be exactly the same i.e. Red and Green Pieces.

ANSWER: Hi Prashant,

Thanks for these questions, here's my answers:

1) I know for myself, I'm used to playing on boards that have white and black squares, and ones with white and green.  I find either one to be fine and I believe most players including Grandmasters would comfortable with either type.  Both types of boards are used in tournament chess here in Canada.

2) This would not help at all in rapid games.  Red and Green and Blue and Yellow are problem colors for people who suffer from color blindness:

QUESTION: Dear Len

Thank you.

1. Other than White and Black, White and Green chessboards, any other
chessboard colors excluding white and black are designed and manufactured do you feel the Chess World Champions, Grand masters may face difficulty in playing chess with those new chessboards ?.

2. Other than White and Black, White and Green chessboards, any other
chessboard colors excluding white and black are designed and manufactured, do you feel the Chess World Champions, Grand masters game style, variations, strategies may also change in playing chess with those new chessboards ?.

3. On a personal note, if you play with your chess opponent with these
new chessboard colors, which are other than White and Black, White and Green chessboards, do you feel your game may be impacted ?.

Note : Players like Kasparov, Karpov, Carlsen, Anand, Nigel Short, Gelfand are chess world champions hence we can refer to them as chess experts.
They know the Chess Game in and out.

Do you feel even those great players will be impacted by these change ?.

Answer
Hi Prashant,

In response to your follow-up questions, it's difficult to say, as what affects one person, may not bother another.

I think more tests though, of other colors could be undertaken as an experiment.  This would be quite interesting - as to my knowledge - no such tests have occurred that I'm aware of.  Such a series of tests could also impact the area of human psychology as it's known that color can affect mood.

This is only discussion I could find on a site that I use quite often:
