Question
my sister and i are learn as u go chess players. my question is can u actually
move into checkmate also what is difference between a stalemate and check.

Answer
You cannot move into checkmate, unless you are playing speed chess (e.g. five minutes or less for each side, and using a clock).

Stalemate occurs when a player cannot make any legal move over the board. The King cannot make any move where it can be taken, and no other pieces can move either.

Check is a term used to announce that one is attacking the King. If a King is in check one can do one of the following: a) Move the King away, b) Block the check with another piece in front of the King or c) Capture the piece that is checking if possible.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Louis
