A widely reputable system known to give computers a hard time due to its closed nature is the Stonewall attack for white (rooted in the Queen's pawn game - ECO D00) and the stonewall dutch for black against 1.d4.  One of the main ideas in the stonewall attack is to use the e5 square to outpost the f3 knight.  There are ideas where white plays Qf3 with subsequent g4-g5 to kick the f6 knight to drum up an attack, often sacrificing the light squared bishop to crack open the king's position with Bxh7+!  You will find many interesting games on the net if you dig around.
