Question
Hi, I am just wondering, what is White's next best move after

1. d4 d5 2. c4 dxc4 3. e3 be6

I dont play much chess but I played 5 games today and every time the computer used be6, I can't figure out a way to get the pawn back

Answer
Hi Su - If you want to get the pawn back, you can play 4.Na3 but an even better plan is to weaken Black's position by taking advantage of his misplaced Bishop with the following moves:

1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.e3 Be6 4.Nc3 Nc6 5.Nf3 Nf6 6.Ng5

In the Queen's Gambit Accepted, 3.e4 is a more aggressive way of playing and I recommend you add this system to your repertoire.
