Question Hi Jim;
We just bought a 1985 Chevy Celebrity Station Wagon. Has what looks like a flip-up seat in the back, but no seat belts. Both wheel wells have a small cover that comes off and has a rubber covering over a large bolt. Are these for the shocks or to hook up the seat belts? Is there anymore kind of storage in this kind of wagon that we can't find? Also the windshield washer motor works, but doesn't squirt, the lines are clear. Is there some way to fix this by priming it or what?

The bolts under the rubber covers are for the rear struts (shocks) and shouldn't be used for hooking up seatbelts. They might have been removed, in which case you would have to look around the seat and find the mounting bolt holes and either order new seatbelts or try to get some at a local junkyard. Over the years I have learned a lot at junkyards, just by asking the disassemblers or asking if I can go out in the yard and look at something that I wanted to find out more information on. The cars are, for the most part, stock and yield lots of info; especially about interiors. As for the windshield washer motor, they are designed to be self-priming pumps, and there really is no way to prime them other than putting fluid in the tank. Try taking off the hose at the pump it's self and see if it squirts out. If not, blow a little compressed air back into the tank with the washer motor off and see if it works then... might have some gunk in it. If not, the impellers may have come off the pump inside and aren't turning. If that's the case it will have to be replaced. Good Luck!
