Question
Hello Kieth,

I own an 1985 Chevrolet Corvette. Tund port injected 350. My question is how hot this car should run. The engine fan will kick on at around 225 degrees. Is this a little too hot, or is this engine supposed to operate at this temp? If driving down the highway, the temp stays around 185 to 190 degrees. I guess this is from ram air across the radiator. The engine was recently rebuilt approx. 3,000 miles ago. Any help you can shed would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Glenn

Answer
Hi Glenn, the fan should start at about 200 degrees. Maybe there is something wrong with the switch that turnes the fan on. Or the problem may be in the temp gauge itself, make sure the temp gauge is sending a accurate temp. The fan may be starting at the right temp, but the gauge is saying it is higher. I hope this helps you, if you need more info just let me know. Regards, Keith.
