my 93 camero starts but it will idle up and down until it stalls out but it will not turn on again until about 2-3 hours later but it will do the same thing. and the gas is buring very rich

When was the last time you changed the O2 sensors? Could also be the MAP sensor mounted on the top of the intake manifold. Swap one in from a friend's car but definately change the O2 sensors.

Is there anyway you can scan the car for the sensor values?
