Question
we have a 2001 chevy cavalier with manual locks, no auto / electrical. the other day we went to open the door and now the lock will not secure teh door closed. it's like the spring is worn out. how do we fix that? is it costly?

Answer
Not costly at all.

Pull the door panel off the inside of the car. There are usually 2-4 screws/bolts by the door handle. Slide the door panel upwards and off.

Find the worn out spring and take it to your local dealership or wrecker and replace. Maybe $2 from a wrecker or $10 from a dealership for a new one.
