Chevrolet/Swapping Chevy Engines

Question
I just pulled a 350ci from a 1981 Caprice Classic...looks like it ended up not the 81 engine. Looks to be about 87 or so. Anyhow, being less than a shade tree mechanic I am at the mercy of friends. I was told that this engine has a one piece rear something that the flywheel is bolted to. The engine I am replacing has a two piece rear whatever...Question: Will these engines interchange without adapting anything or will they work at all? Last note: The engine is going in a Chevy C60 farm truck.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Kelly,

Hmm...
The only ain changes to the 305, 350, 396, and 427 Chevy V8's over the years has been the way fuel is delivered; therefore, there should be no problem with your new "two-piece rear whatever".
BTW-Nice truck!

Hope this helps you!
