im a 20 year old dude and i drive a 1971 chevy nova as a daly driver. im not stupid wen it comes to cars i know the basics like how to change your oil and tune your carb, i even installed my own aftermarket headers and flowmasters. but wen it comes to transmisions im stumped. i have a sbc 350 with a 350 turbo tranny.

so heres a few questions for ya

wen im driveing around a curved road my trans goes in to nutral or sumthing cuz wen i press the gas i get no speed it just sounds like im reving it up.it also dose that wen i stop at a stop sign. i make a compleet stop and press the gas and it sits ther for a good 2 or 3 seconds then out of no were it kicks in to first and takes off

and sum times wen i take sharper corners it squeels prity loud wen i press the gas


can you tell me what my problim is?

and what i should do about it with out it costing an arm and a leg

   Hea dude ;  it sounds like the tranny might be in need of a adj. or at least a new filter and replace the fluid, all fluid converter too. this might help you. but the slipping is bad and you do not want that at all. the more it sits and goes no place the more it is burning up the tranny inside.I would drain the tranny fluid and get a new filter/screen  for it. this might help you ..   ok
