Chevrolet/GM error code

Searched every vacuum line on the vehicle, no MAP sensor, just a plug/connector where the mount is and wiring running back into the harness. I found a list of error codes for a VIN # of 9 instead of W (same engine) and it lists the error as MAF sensor (or low air flow). Will this make it run rich also? Is there any way short of a shop to test this? Being expensive I hate to change this on just a guess...
Again many thanks...

Answer
Hi Fred, I have done some research for you. I have borrowed a manuel for your car. I was mistaken about the location of the map sensor(it is supposed to have one) on an 86 the map sensor is located in the right of the engine compartment(passenger side) just behind the strut tower. Did you check the temp sensor? Let me know what you find out, don't worry we will figure it out. Regards, Keith.
