Question -
I have a 1999 Chevy Malibu.  The car died out on me while I was backing out of the driveway. The car cranks but It will not fire and start.
What do you think is the problem?  The car has always ran great and I have always kept up with the maintenanance.
Answer -
Hi Robert, did you check to see if it was getting fuel? If the fuel pump is running then it is most likly to be the ignition module. I hope this helps you, if you need more info just let me know

Hi Keith, no I did not check if it was getting fuel.  How would I do that?
I did check for a fire spark and It was not gatting any fire, and I was not sure what to do about It.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Robert, if there is no fire there are only a few things that it could be. the most common thing is the ignition modgule, but you need to make sure because it is a little expensive and once you buy it you cant take it back, it also can be the crank sensor, or even a broken wire or a blown fuse. So you should have a mechanic take a look at it before you start buying parts you dont need. I hope this helps you, let me know what you find. Regards, Keith.
