Chevrolet/Power Brakes on 70 Impala

Question
The brake pedal, on my 70 Impala with power brakes, has always gone very close to the floor.  When it came out of winter storage the pedal travelled closer to the floor than normal and the dash brake light is on.  Both reservoirs in the main cylinder are full with fluid.  The main cylinder has been replaced since the car was new.  Is there a way of getting the brakes to activate when the pedal is higher (less brake travel)?

Answer
Those type of set ups are known for that, well first try to bleed the system out , start from the farthest bleeder first, if you do not know how to do it you must get someone that does as you want to try and get any air out not in. also how are your brake pads? and the wheel cylds.  they must be bad by now , as far as that pedel with good brake pads and a bleed system and a good vacume to the power system you can get the pedel up a lil bit but  if done proper , the brakes will put you threw the windshield the first time you use them if you hit them to hard , and you will have good brakes, you might be able to take a bit of the play out from under the foot pedel as there should be a adj. to bring it up a bit. ok and there might be a adj. at the end of the master cyld. but I would not touch that one.
good luck with it.

All i can remember growing up is working on cars and making them loud and fast , and when i started to make money i would sink all of it into my cars so i could get them to go faster and look great. what else is there !I would love a challange to trouble shoot, as it is fun finding what is wrong when all others can not .ON the older cars not past 1975s , etc. so please I will try to help with the newer cars but do not grade me bad if I can not help your 2006 car.etc.
