When parking on an incline, the reverse gear will not hold the truck in place. It rolls forward a few inches at a time. Cluch, transmission (manuel) has no repair history. In your opiion, why does this happen, and what repair is needed?

Hi Tom, there is no repair needed, unlike automatic transmissions that have a mechanical park position manuel transmissions are not designed to hold on hills. It will hold a little but as the engine gets older and compression decreases it will hold less and less. All vechiles are designed to have the parking brake applied each time you stop, weather you on a hill or not. So when you park on a hill just apply the parking brake and it will be fine.
