Question
i own a 1989 chevy celebrity. it is acting like it is not getting enough gas to the engine. we put on a new fuel filter. the car is sputering and coughing and when you get to a certain speed it shakes like it is going to fall apart.the old one had a lot of brown and black specks in it i don't know if it still has anything in it that could clog the filter. i also recently hit a deer on the left side and it kind of moved the body over. the car has over 150,000 miles on it. do you think that it is worth fixing. also do you think that we should try blowing out the lines. any informantion you could give me would greatly appreciated. thank you

Answer
Hi Jesica, you have to decide how much money you want to spend on you car, there are a lot of older cars out there that still work fine. I dont think your problem is too serious. Have the fuel pressure checked to make sure its not the fuel pump. Have A reliable mechanic take it for a test drive to narrow down the problem. It may be an ignition problem that a simple tune up will fix. I hope this helps you if you need more info just let me know. Regards, Keith.
