Question
Hello Keith, i have a 97 cav, conv w/2.4 liter and 130,000 mi. Today it stalled in traffic, by the time i pushed it off the road all electronics came back to life and it fired right up.  I know it had a total electrical failure because my CD player had completely reset just like when i unhook the battery.  When i started it again i drove about 10mi in traffic with no problems what so ever.  The engine light did come on about 2 weeks ago, went off for 2 or 3 days and came back on about 4 days ago.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hi Matt,I dont think the engine light is connected to the electrial problem,it is almost impossible to diagnose electrial problems without being there, it sounds like corrosion on one of the main cables, the negative connects to the engine, and the positive connects to the starter motor, check to see if they are corroded. I hope this helps you if you need more info just let me know.Regards, Keith.
